Alabama weekend

Teresa and I head out to Alabama this coming weekend for the Alabama vs. Auburn game in Tuscaloosa, hoping for an upset of Auburn to end Bama's year. How sad a statement is that, hoping to 'upset' Auburn University, in Tuscaloosa. Also, if we lose it will be FIVE in a row to Auburn. Ridiculous. It will be good to get back to campus one more time this year on a nice, cool fall day. My cousins, Rhonda and Skeeter, will be tailgating prior to kick-off so we will spend some time with them as well.

Sunday we head to Ashland, AL for a Wallace family reunion at little old Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. This was one of my favorite events as a kid and as an adult it is nice to catch up with my family members in Alabama. We go to a little white church, eat awesome southern style food, visit with family, pay respects at my grandfather/grandmother Wallace's grave site, watch the kids throw footballs and run around, talk football, share stories of family history, pray and smile a lot.

I'm ready for it after two long weeks at work.
