Electrical Problems

Our poor little Smudgie (his name) cat.... such a sweet animal, doesn't hurt a thing and is very needy but he's got some problems. Around 2:30 am, once every 4-6 weeks, he decides it is time to have a seizure while we are all sleeping on the bed. It is a violent seizure that starts with him shaking the bed and twitching like crazy. I wake up, grab him and place him in the bathtub so he doesn't hurt himself or pee all over everything (he can't control it during a seizure). It last about 5 minutes or so, he comes out of it, we give him a bath and he wanders around the house for hours meowing.

The poor little guy has no clue where he is or even who we are for several hours. He is not in pain (that we can tell) because he is probably not aware during the seizures and after 6 or so hours he is back to his same little freaky self. It is strange, however, because after each seizure there is usually some type of behavior change. The first few times he seized he was terrified of me. He's gotten better at that now but he hisses at wierd times now. We love him and will take care of him best we can but this is just something we all have to live with for now. Vet really can't help us without taking a 'CAT' scan and doing a lot of diagnostics.

He's our little freak.
