Express please....

We've learned a few things about navigating New York City. USE THE EXPRESS SUBWAYS is the best discovery!! They skip a lot of stops and if you plan you trip right you can save a lot of time. We took the express #4 down to City Hall again and walked back north thru ChinaTown then Little Italy. Chinatown is packed full of people, the most crowded place in NYC since we've been here. It was a blast walking the streets and seeing the people from all over the world.

We stopped in Little Italy and ate lunch at a little cafe, at a patio table outside. Once we filled up on food we headed north to Soho and then headed towards the garment district to get me a hat but ran out of time.... we had some clothes in the cleaners to pick up by 5:00 pm. Coming back north on the subway we encountered HUGE crowds, packed in to the subway cars. It is interesting because you can't live here without a metro pass and in i-pod. People tend to sing their songs, out loud, too for all to hear!

We got the clothes and headed out in search of a pretzel, which we found in front of the Museum of Modern Art. We sat on the stairs, watched people go by and contemplated buying a condo on 5th Avenue, with a view of Central Park, for $10 million. Looking at our budget we decided against it pretty quickly.

The people here are relatively nice, the service is first rate everwhere we have been and window shopping is a blast. So many shops within a 4 block radius of the apartment it is amazing. There is a nail shop, cleanres, pizza place, pub, etc. every other store here. Wonder how you decide what to do when you live here.

We have dinner tonight with my boss, who lives a few blocks away. She's not met Teresa yet. More to come.
