I've had to drive in to my office a few times a weeks since moving here and here are my observations on Atlanta area FREEWAY driving (I'll post non-freeway traffic rules later).
I'm going to avoid anger by following these rules that other Atlantan's seem to follow as well.
- Go Fast
- If you are in the right lane and a car going faster than you comes up on the left side, increase your speed when they get next to you by at least 15 mph, forcing them to either speed up 20 mph to pass you, or give up and get behind you.
- Once they get behind you, slow down to your previous speed and repeat #2 if necessary.
- Go Fast.
- When entering the freeway do NOT use the on ramp, proceed straight to the left lane on the freeway.
- Wander from lane to lane at random, especially while typing a text message on your cell phone.
- Go Fast.
- Never let anyone change lanes in front of you during rush hour, no matter how slow you are going. Remember, it is MY LANE!
- If someone signals to change a lane in front of you speed up and make sure they don't get in.
- Go Fast.
- If it rains immediately slam on the brakes.
- If I see a cop and/or flashing lights, slams on the brakes. If the action is on the opposite side of the freeway take a loooong, hard look at it to see if I can see anything that I've already seen 100 times.
- Go Fast.

Freddie hates it when I fuss at Houston drivers. We'd probably kill each if we had to drive there for any length of time. My sympathies. Did they not take driver's ed?!?!?!
