For our 2nd Anniversary celebration, the proper way, I wanted to provide Teresa the opportunity to see the Thanksgiving Day Parade, in person, for the first time. We have a great set-up here at Matt and Heather's apartment in E. 85th street but the weather has made it a little tough so far.
This morning we got up and looked at the rain outside and decided to 'go for it'. We took the #6 subway down to 59th street and walked to Columbus Circle (see photo above of Big Bird!) to watch the Macy's parade. We got a decent spot about 3 people deep and right after we saw our first band from Ohio go by it started to POUR down rain. I had a pancho and Teresa had her hooded jacket on but after a little while it just didn't protect us. We saw Big Bird, Dora the Explorer and then called it a parade due to cold, soaked jackets. Didn't see Snoopy however so I added his picture to our blog... close enough.
We stopped at Gene's diner on the way back to have a little bruch and warm up.
Anyway, it is a great day no matter what because Teresa and I have so much to be Thankful for. We are thankful to God for His Son and our lives in Him first and foremost, family, and the list could go on forever.
More travel adventures to be posted soon.
