As the holiday's fast approach I know many people are gathering food and funds to help others during this time of the year. Our church is gathering food to feed several families in the Canton, GA area that are in need. We believe it is up to us who have been given 'much' to help those in need at this time.
Time to venture close to what is considered 'politics' even though this is not a Democrat vs. Republican article.
This precious article called "Philanthropy Expert: Conservatives Are More Generous" appeared on the web today. Of course, everything we read on the web is true you know. This still has a ring of truth to it however.
My favorite paragraph is this one:
"Conversely, secular liberals who believe fervently in government entitlement programs give far less to charity. They want everyone's tax dollars to support charitable causes and are reluctant to write checks to those causes, even when governments don't provide them with enough money."
How nice, I can call myself compassionate but expect others to pay for it, what a deal!!
