I broke down and gave in to temptation yesterday. I've been wanting a little 'scoot about' car for months to replace my big old white F150 and yesterday I finally drove to Buford, GA and bought one. I like cars, buy them all the time while my wife has had the same car for 11 years running and still loves it.
It is a 2003 Mazda Protege5, 5 speed with power everything. It is a nice car, was a good deal but I've got a little work to do on it to make it just a little better. It has an after-market sport tuned suspension and lower profile which makes the ride a little rough but it whips around corners like it is on a rail. I'm not sure a guy in his mid 40's needs a little sportster but I like the fact this car is a Mazda, small, economical (more than twice the MPG of the truck) but can carry a couple of things in the cargo area.

It has one of those BIG mufflers on the tailpipe that makes it sound like a overgrown bumblebee. As a muscle car owner there is NO WAY I'm riding around town in a little 4 banger that makes noise. I'm getting that thing off ASAP, selling it on e-bay and going back to a stock muffler that is quiet. The window tinting is dark purple so that goes too!!
I've got a funny feeling deep inside that my wife may snag this car from me soon and I'm left with a Honda Accord. I don't drive much since I work from home most of the time so I wouldn't blame her.
