Tuesday is trash pick-up day at our house. In Georgia it is a free-for-all as to who picks up garbage and when so this means that every day of the week garbage trucks are cruising thru the neighborhood making noise and leaving a trail of trash. I liked it when the community paid for the trash service from our dues and they only came at one time.
When we moved here we chose Waste Management, but after some strange happenings with the driver we knew we were going to 'dump' them as soon as possible. The first few times they picked up our trash the driver actually was rude and told me we had 'too much garbage'. Wierd, never heard a garbage man tell a customer that before. He was mad because we had a lot of boxes, etc. from moving. However, there were rules about how much we could leave and how to wrap up items, etc. which we followed each week. So, when our contract with WM ended Teresa found us another company, starting next week!
I did see one of the funniest things I've seen here in the great little town of Woodstock. A garbage truck, well actually an old pick-up truck with big wooden sides on it, came down our street and stopped in front of a neighbors house. Out stepped two older ladies, and I mean they were not a day under 60. They grabbed that garbage can and threw everything into the back of that old truck and headed out. I just busted out laughing, little old trash ladies. That was great!
Now, let's hope our new trash company doesn't have a problem with picking up garbage from the house.
