If you have never seen a field full of bluebonnets then you've missed something really special to the people of Texas. I drove from Houston to Austin yesterday after church at The Met (man, I miss that place!!) and all along highway 290 were fields of bluebonnets. People get out of the car and take pictures of the wife, kids, dogs, cats, fish... an annual pilgrimage here.
You need to be careful, however, because I think that it is against the law to step on or otherwise damage a bluebonnet flower.
