What is good about Good Friday?

Today, April 6, 2007, is Good Friday. All around the world people of Christian faiths celebrate many traditions associated with this day. We celebrate this day because it is the day that Jesus died for us, and for ME!

What is good in my life on this good Friday?

• That the Son of God loved me enough to die on this day 2,000 years ago.

• The love of my wife, my very best friend.

• My family

• That it is cold outside, 37 degrees (that's just wierd).

• My new friends here in Georgia. We are just starting to make friends here in Georgia and tonight we have dinner with some new friends that Teresa and I are both excited about.

• My 'old' friends. I've got friends around the country that I've known since college days and those I've known since my time at Second Baptist Houston in the 80's. They are there for me no matter what.

• My job, yes, I like my job. Difficult as it is I'm thankful for it daily.

• That I am healthy, if not a little too fat, at 46 years old.

• I have a full head of hair!

• One of our cats actually likes me.

• The trees in the back yard are green, so beautiful.

• Dogwoods are in bloom, so pretty.

• Our neighbors, some good people around here.

• Tomorrow is Saturday!

The best thing about today, however, really isn't made known until Sunday. Easter Sunday is the absolute best day of the year for me. Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc. are all holidays but Easter is an EVENT, a happening and a day of total celebration. Still awed each Easter Sunday morning to think what happened long ago.

He is Risen.
