It's a good week....

I'm sitting on my back porch this morning... what an amazing feat during summertime. It is in the lower 60's with a little breeze blowing, dew all over the plants, a cat wandering around my feet wanting to get outside the screened porch area and birds wishing she wouldn't.

This is a good week because of several things:

1. It is not last week!!! The end of the 2nd quarter at work was a real doozy. 'nough said.

2. I had to drive in to the office again yesterday, on the way to the office the traffic was extra light. I was going plenty fast when I spotted a big old (mid-70's) beat up pick-up truck coming up behind me in a hurry. I got out of the way, quickly. He zig and zagged around people until he got about 1/2 mile ahead of me when I saw a puff of blue smoke coming from his tailpipes. As he slowed and pulled off the side of the road with a broken down truck I smiled. I probably should have helped him but he and his truck were scary looking.

3. Tomorrow is a holiday.

4. Teresa and I head to the mountains again this weekend to stay at a little log cabin and see the Shenandoah Band play at a little winery in Tennessee.

5. The coffee is good this morning.

6. I can work from this screened in porch for a few hours this morning.

7. My wife, who is my best friend and the most beautiful women I know is asleep upstairs right now.

8. I get to see my family at the beach in a couple of weeks.

9. It rained last weekend.

10. The NY Times ran a hit piece on Fred Thompson yesterday. That makes me happy when the Times does that because it means they are concerned about him. This piece fizzled and died quickly because many people realize that nearly every congressperson has a family member working for them, even Democrats.

11. I'm going to New York again next week for a few days.

12. The Astro's are winning a few more games and Biggio has over 3,000 hits now. I can't imagine the Astro's without him, he's been their anchor for 20 years.

I need more coffee and must get to work, earn a living.
