August 22nd happenings around Woodstock

  • A mommy deer and two spotted fawns came into the yard this morning. One of our cats, sitting on the back porch, was charged by the mom but nothing happened, they then retreated to the woods.
  • Teresa and I had dinner last Friday with our realtors, Daniel and Brandi Clotfelter. It was so hot and muggy we stayed inside and 'grilled' on their George Foreman grill. We shot some pool and darts in their basement after dinner. It was a nice night out. Now, we just need to sell our house!!
  • We had dinner last Saturday with two of my friends from high school. Pat and his wife Ina along with Bill and Lori met us at Rainwater Restaurant in Alpharetta for a good evening of catching up and getting to know each other and our spouses again. It is strange to look at your friends get older and realize that I AM TOO!!
  • Dinner out with friends for two nights in a row is a rare event for us.
  • It remains 'Houston' hot here. This is ridiculous.
  • My Alabama season tickets should arrive today or tomorrow. I'm ready to go to a couple of games this year.
  • KISS is on the XMRadio right now, yikes, gotta go change the station!!
  • RIP: Bama. My brother's chocolate lab, BAMA, passed away last week after a long and happy life. She was the sweetest dog, not real bright but a fun loving and loyal friend. She always seemed to recognize me when I visited. I can't be sure because she really loved everyone.
  • Tough times for an old friend: The son of a good friend of mine from college days , Jeremiah Castille, was arrested last weekend in Tuscaloosa. The son, Simeon, has made a major mistake and I'm sure it is tough on Jeremiah too.
  • Work is getting busy again, everyone is back from vacation now. Gotta go.....
