Like seeing a ghost....

Teresa and I ran some errands and got a bite to eat Friday night, nothing special just getting caught up on some items. We came home and Teresa went upstairs to call her mom (Happy belated birthday FAITH!!) to wish her happy birthday. I was enjoying the fire when I hear a loud yell from upstairs... "MICHAEL". Thinking I was going to go upstairs and kill a bug I didn't rush.

I get to the stairs and Teresa says "Smudgie's here". I asked her if she was sure because the little cat has been gone for 5 weeks now (see previous post). Sure enough I hear a pathetic little squeek coming from under the guest bed. She thought she was seeing things when she first saw him before he ran under the bed.

I ran downstairs, got some food and he came out to eat. Holy Cow, he was skinny, dirty and pathetic looking but alive!! You have to wonder where he has been for 5 weeks and how in the world did he make it back home. Thank goodness Teresa left the garage door partially open the entire time because that is how he got in the house.

We took him to the vet who gave us some advise and some IV fluids. We are pumping him full of liquids and feeding him small portions. So far he is reacting very nicely, looks so much better and is getting his energy back.

It is amazing he came back, the people at the shelter said to never give up hope and they were right.
