Vandals on the loose in Walnut Creek

Teresa and I went to a Walnut Creek (our subdivision) meeting last December and at that meeting the previous board members were begging for new blood to help out as each of them were tired and had been on the board for a long time. I don't know what came over us but Teresa volunteered to help with Social activities and my hand went up to volunteer to be on the board (Member at Large).

We had our first board meeting last week, simple enough, and Teresa has to coordinate an Easter Egg Hunt with some of the other ladies in the neighborhood AND write the community newsletter. I think I got the easy end of this bargain! Anyhow, neighbors awoke Tuesday morning to nearly 20 smashed mailboxes and two street signs smashed and a stop sign destroyed. Since Cherokee County schools are our and we've had trouble with teenagers before our logical conclusion is 'TEENS!!'. The sheriff came out and opened a criminal case for us. We shall see what happens next. I feel bad for the homeowners as they have to replace mailbox posts and boxes, which is not exactly cheap.

I hope they are caught as the previous board members shared stories of teens smashing fences, lights, pool items, etc. in the past year or more.

Parents anyone?? Are there parents out there?
