Rockets streak continues, despite me

Last night Teresa and I went to the Atlanta Hawks vs. Houston Rockets NBA game. The Rockets came in with a 19 game winning streak, going for 20!! We attended the game as the guest of the Hawks high-flying mascot named Skyhawk. Skyhawk is a cool mascot who does the jumps, flips and dunks during the game to entertain the crowd.

I was afraid that by my going to see the Rockets play I would jinx the streak but it worked out well. The Rockets played their worst game of the year and STILL WON, whew.

We arrived at Philips Arena and found our seats, right next to a guy in a Texas A&M sweatshirt and hat. He has his kids with him and they were all (except the youngest boy) cheering for the Rockets too. During the game Skyhawk came to the seats and gave the kids little toy basketballs and gave me a hard time for cheering for the Rockets. He doesn't talk but he pointed at me and made the 'crazy motion' with his hands. The kids loved it and everyone around us was enjoying Skyhawk's visit. After he left I spoke to the Aggie guy and found out that he too was a friend of Skyhawk. As we chatted we discovered we live in the EXACT SAME SUBDIVISION. I thought it was just absolutely bizarre that I go to an NBA game, sit next to an Aggie, cheering for the Rockets, who is a friend of my friend and lives in my neighborhood. A true small world event.
