A Day Off, Pro's and Con's

Teresa and I took a day off from work yesterday to enjoy a trip to the north Georgia Mountains and ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. It was nice to extend the weekend by one day.

Pro's:
  • Spending a day with Teresa.
  • Riding a train.
  • Getting a day off from work.
  • Beautiful scenery along the 13 mile trip.
  • It was a quiet day and the train was mostly empty. Since it was a Monday Teresa and I were the youngest people there!!
  • It stopped raining right before we arrived in Blue Ridge.
  • Saw an Osprey Eagle, some turkeys, beaver dams (no beaver) and horses along the way.
  • It was warmer on the return trip.

Con's:
  • IT WAS COLD!! After the rain came the cold front.
  • We were in an open car. Thinking it would be warm. When we booked the trip that decision made sense.
  • The train 'hostess' talked too much on the trip. When you are riding a rail along the beautiful tracks and mountains... be quiet and let us enjoy it.
  • Nothing to do in the town where we stopped for 2 hours.
We can say now we've "been there/done that".
