Old Car/New Car

Teresa has owned a 1996 Honda Accord since it's "birth" in Houston over 12 years ago. It is a great little car but we decided to make a change. Well, watching the price of SUV's drop like a rock lately we decided to investigate purchasing something. I do not drive to an office and Teresa's new job is just 3 miles away so we wanted something bigger and newer. I know that is not 'politically correct' but I've never been really accused of being that.


We looked online for a while then started going to test drives last week. We drove a Honda Pilot (too boring), an Acura MDX (nice), a Lexus RS330 (very nice!), a Volvo XC90 (slow) and a Nissan Pathfinder (Teresa really liked this one). We finished looking at cars for the weekend and mulled it over all week.

Last Sunday we went to a little, local dealer that had a bunch of Acura and Lexus vehicles for good prices. We drove a few and were about to leave when the sales guy asked what what we were going to do. We said we looked at a Pathfinder up in our area and he got all fired up and said he had one for 'much better price' than the one we looked at. We looked at it, drove it around and decided to go for it after a looooooong afternoon of deliberation.

Well, it is now sitting in the garage and has a name. "Brutus the Beast" Teresa calls it. We already used it to 'haul' stuff as we had been trying to borrow a neighbor's truck to bring home a grill we wanted. Well, last night we brought it home IN OUR OWN TRUCK!!!

We are fortunate that we are in a position to buy a new (used) vehicle. We hope to get many years out of this beast.

I put a sign in the Accord's window yesterday and already had 2 people call within a few hours. I had one call from a guy who saw our ad online @ CraigsList. I show it to them later today, pray it sells!!
